ABOUT RATTLESNAKE PRODUCTIONS

We are RATTLESNAKE Production, an independent film company that self-finances all our projects. As a husband and wife team, we enjoy working together on music videos and feature films. Our first documentary, TATTOOED from 2008, won the prestigious INDIE SPIRIT AWARD. Our recent documentary, IN YOUR FACE - THE NEIL ZLOZOWER STORY, released in 2018, won numerous awards at major international film festivals such as the Beverly Hills Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Raindance Film Festival in London. Currently, we are working on a film about guitarists and their love and connection with their instrument. We have interviewed over 70 world-famous guitar players, including legends like Johnny Winter, Dweezil Zappa, Kerry King, Steve Vai, Michael Schenker, and Elvis Presley's buddy and guitarist on many of his tours, James Burton.
Declan was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1971 during the Troubles. He worked as a deep-sea fisherman in Ardglass before becoming an E-Bass alumni at the American Institute of Music in Vienna. Afterward, he worked as a session bass player, roadie, and stage hand for many bands. He then became a tattoo artist and founded the Rattlesnake Tattoo & Piercing Studio in Vienna. Finally, he became a film maker.
Beate was born in Vienna in 1964, completed high school, and worked at various record companies such as WEA Records, as well as in several record stores. In 1989, she launched the first Rock/Metal/Punk Band Merch Store Rattlesnake in Vienna, which she still manages. She also collaborates with Declan on their films and projects.
